Life is full of unexpected events, and, at times, these events can involve our beloved pets.  Whether due to an accident, injury, or unforeseen disease involving extensive care, caring for a pet can come with a high price tag.  Each day at the SPCA, pet owners make the difficult decision to surrender their sick or injured animal because they cannot afford necessary veterinary care.

The Marie Gebura Caring Heart Fund was established in 2015 to help those members of our community who are unable to afford the high cost of care for their pet when unexpected medical costs occur.

Marie Gebura confided to a dear and caring friend that her one fear was being forgotten after she was gone.  Her friend always remembered this, and, when Marie passed tragically in a plane crash, he vowed that her legacy would live on.  Decades and many conversations later, the Marie Gebura Caring Heart Fund was created through the great generosity of Marie’s friend, who humbly desires to remain anonymous.

Please help us assist pet owners faced with the difficult decision of surrendering a beloved pet because of high veterinary expenses.  As a nonprofit organization that receives no government funding, the SPCA is only able to help these owners through donations made by our generous community.
