With cars speeding past him, Wilbur was found petrified and alone near an exit on NY Route 400. He was malnourished, had abrasions all over his body, and was struggling to walk. Before all hope was lost for Wilbur, a good Samaritan pulled over and rushed him to the SPCA Serving Erie County.
Once Wilbur arrived at our shelter, he happily devoured a nutritious meal – something he hadn’t had for quite some time. Unfortunately, as his medical intake progressed, Wilbur’s list of diagnoses continued to grow. In addition to dental fractures and roundworms, his ears were coated in itchy debris, and he was missing a toe on his back paw. The sweet pup would need dedicated, expensive medical treatments to alleviate his painful symptoms.
After much-needed dental surgery, laser therapy, and soothing medications, Wilbur’s health drastically improved and he steadily gained weight. He now has a second chance at life and an opportunity to live in a loving home, fear-free.
