Q: WHAT’S DOGGIE ENTOURAGE?
A: You… your friends… your family… you can be a dog’s entourage! It’s a program dedicated to getting dogs out of the SPCA for a few hours, or for the whole day! And tails throughout the shelter are wagging for Moog, helping to bring this program to our community!

Q: WAIT, WHAT DO YOU MEAN? I CAN TAKE A DOG OUT OF THE SPCA FOR A LITTLE WHILE?
A: YES! Sometimes potential adopters would like to learn what a dog is like away from the shelter before making the choice to adopt. Sometimes people who cannot adopt would just like to spend time with an SPCA dog, taking one out of the shelter for a few hours of fun! If a dog qualifies as a Doggie Entourage VIP, you can take him or her out on the town for a little while! Even if you’re not thinking of adopting, you might meet someone along the way who falls in love with the dog you’ve taken out for the day! And let’s face it…people always fall in love with the VIPs!

Q: HOW CAN I FIND OUT WHICH DOGS ARE ABLE TO GO OUT FOR THE DAY?
A: It’s easy! Almost all the dogs on the adoption floor qualify as Doggie Entourage VIPs! You can stop in at the SPCA’s 300 Harlem Rd., West Seneca location during Adoption hours, or you can call 716-875-7360 ext. 208 to find out who is available.  You can bring the dogs to parks, patios, places that allow dogs…even to your own home!

Q: DO SPCA STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS EVER TAKE THE DOGS OUT?
A: Oh, yes! Every so often, SPCA dogs are out and about with their entourage of staff members and volunteers! You’ll see them at places like farmers’ markets, stores, ice cream stands, and popular outdoor hang-outs — all kinds of safe places where fun people and potential, new adopters gather!

Q: HOW DO I GET STARTED?
A: Just visit our Adoptions desk at the SPCA’s 300 Harlem Rd., West Seneca location during our Adoption hours. All you need is a photo ID! You will be asked to sign a waiver and go through the safety dos and don’ts. After that, our staff and volunteers will assist you in picking out one of our Doggie Entourage-approved dogs! We supply you with a backpack of supplies and a suggested list of area parks and patios that you can visit. Dogs need to be returned to the shelter one hour before closing time.
