The SPCA’s primary mission is to protect the welfare of ALL animals, and the wildlife department is integral in meeting this mission. The SPCA’s Wildlife Department provides care to sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife, with the goal of releasing these animals back into the wild. In addition, the department educates the people in our community so that they may live with and enjoy wildlife.
The cost of feeding, caring for, and rehabilitating the wild animals that come to us for care is more than $100,000. Because our wildlife program is not revenue producing (there are no fees to surrender a wild animal nor do we charge a fee to pick up an injured wild animal), the SPCA relies on the continued help of the community to meet our goals.
