Pet Food Pantry
The SPCA understands that family hardships can happen at any time. These challenges often affect both people and their pets, and no one should have to choose between caring for themselves and caring for the animals they love.
Our Pet Food Pantry was created to provide temporary assistance to families who may be struggling to obtain pet food or basic supplies. At this time, no proof of hardship is required to utilize the pantry.
Depending on availability, we may also be able to provide cat litter, collars, leashes, and other supplies in addition to food.
All food and supplies are generously donated by our community. Because of this, we are unable to guarantee specific brands or types of food and cannot accept requests for specialty items, but we do our very best to help whenever we can.
To ensure we can serve as many families as possible, pantry assistance is limited to once every 30 days per household.
How to Access the Pet Food Pantry
You may submit an electronic request using this form at any time.
If you have questions or need assistance, please contact our Pantry Coordinator, Jackie Lentz, at (716) 875-7360, ext. 204, or email her.
Walk-In Wednesday (New!)
Need food sooner or prefer to come in person? Join us from noon to 3 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month. (Please note, there will not be a Walk-In Wednesday in March 2026.) No appointment needed! Just stop by!
Enter through the Adoptions lobby and follow the signs to the left. A wait may exist, so please be patient with us. We encourage you to bring a reusable shopping bag to carry your items home.
What the Pet Food Pantry Provides
We’ve got your back (and your pet’s tummy!) with more than just kibble.
Depending on donations, we may have:
– Dry and canned pet food
– Cat litter
– Collars and leashes
– Other basic pet supplies
While we can’t promise specific brands or formulas, there’s usually something available that your pet will enjoy. If you have questions or concerns, our friendly staff is always happy to help explore options.
This program is made possible entirely by the generosity of our donors, and we are incredibly grateful for their support.
Pet Food Pantry Guidelines
To help keep this program safe, respectful, and sustainable for everyone:
– You must be 18 years or older to participate.
– Pantry assistance is limited to once every 30 days per household.
– Please notify us if your name, phone number, address, or alternate contact information changes.
– Let us know if you welcome a new pet or say goodbye to a pet so we can plan appropriately.
– Breeding pets are not permitted in the program.
– Cat food provided is intended for indoor household cats only, not for community cats.
– We strive to maintain a respectful and welcoming environment. Disruptive behavior or inappropriate language toward staff or volunteers may result in temporary or permanent suspension from the program.
– Inventory varies based on donations, and supplies may occasionally run low.
– The amount of food provided may change depending on current availability.
We truly appreciate your understanding as we work to support as many pets and families as possible.
Exciting Updates! (Coming in April 2026)
As our pantry family grows, we’re making a few small changes starting April 1, 2026, to help ensure every pet gets the supplies they need.
– When you fill out your online request, you’ll now be able to pick a specific day for your visit.
– We’ll be ready for you between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
– To make things easier, please head to the Adoptions entrance for all pantry pickups.
– Because space is limited and needs are high, we’re no longer able to hold orders for a week. If you can’t make it on your chosen day, we’ll pass those supplies along to another pet in need, and you can simply sign up again for a future date.
– Everything stays the same through March 31! You’ll start seeing the new “pickup day” option on our forms soon.
Life happens! If you find you can’t make your scheduled time, please reach out to Jackie at (716) 875-7360, ext. 204 in advance. We’re happy to help whenever we can!
