
Before and After Care
Before or after care is available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. for $40 per week. Individual before or after care sessions are $10 each.
Age Information
Camp sessions are organized by age and grade. When you register your child, use this guideline to ensure that they are in the correct group:

Medication and First Aid Policies
SPCA staff and camp counselors are certified in first aid and CPR, however, employees, volunteers, or other representatives are not permitted to administer any medications or emergency medical treatments to anyone. Rescue devices can be given to a humane educator to be secured onsite in case of an emergency, but a doctor’s note must accompany the device. Humane educators can assist your child in the preparation of the device but cannot deliver any medications such as inhalers or EpiPens. If a rescue device will remain onsite at the SPCA, contact Director of Community Education Christine Davis at HumaneEducation@yourspca.org.
Cancellation Policy
Full-week summer camps: If your child is registered in advance, a spot is reserved for him or her. Before June 1, if we learn your child will not be attending camp after that spot has been reserved, a non-refundable processing fee of $75 will be retained. Starting June 1 through 15 days prior to the first day of your registered session, a deposit equal to 50% of the camp cost will be retained.
No refunds will be given two weeks (14 days) prior to or after the start of any week-long camps.
If your child is absent or is on vacation during the registered week, camp fees will not be returned or prorated.
All refund requests must be submitted in writing. Approved refunds will take a minimum of two weeks to process.
Additional Information
- Each camper will receive an SPCA camp T-shirt. Additional T-shirts are available for $12.
- Campers will interact with an animal daily.
- Contact us at HumaneEducation@yourspca.org if you have any concerns about animal or food allergies.
- Campers can register for multiple sessions based on their age grouping.
- Campers must bring a lunch daily.
- Camp will take place at the SPCA Serving Erie County’s 441 Indian Church Rd. location in West Seneca, alongside our main campus at 300 Harlem Rd.
About Our Camp Counselors
The SPCA’s humane educators work with children and adults throughout the year. These educators/camp counselors are trained in First Aid and CPR.

The SPCA is the perfect summer destination for campers looking for hands-on animal encounters, exciting interactive activities, and a daily look into the world of animal welfare and care! It’s where STEAM (science/technology/engineering/arts/mathematics) meets the human-animal bond in bold, creative, new ways! Sessions are offered for children ages 5 – 13 currently in PreK – 8th grade.
Campers will become animal advocates, interact with animals, and participate in activities led by animal experts!

Adventures in Veterinary Medicine
Ages 8 – 10
This camp provides a wonderful introduction to veterinary medicine and is a perfect program for any camper interested in a career in the medical field! Campers will learn about and participate in activities such as physical exams, reading x-rays, understanding common diseases and illnesses, performing an ultrasound, listening to animal heart rates, and much more! They will also learn about pet overpopulation and take home their very own stethoscope! (Campers may have the option to observe a spay/neuter surgery.)

Animal Science with Pokemonâ„¢
Ages 11 – 13
This camp will explore the fascinating world of animal sceince, veterinary science, and genetics through the imaginative lens of the Pokémon™ universe! This camp will blend real science with the creativity of the Pokémon™ universe to help learners deeply understand how animals live, grow, and survive. They will become scientists themselves as they compare the art of Pokémon™ to real animals they may know. This camp creates an opportunity to research while learning what animals are capable of understanding and how they respond to the world around them, just like real Pokémon™ trainers!

Animal STEAM
Ages 9 – 11
Get ready to combine your love of animals with the power of engineering and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics)! Campers will dive into the world of creative problem-solving and see how things interact. From designing and building their own launchers to running real experiments with our resident goats, campers will explore how engineering and animal behavior come together in fun and surprising ways. Bring your curiosity, teamwork skills, and imagination; it’s time to think, build, and play like an engineer!

Animals and Pokémon™
Ages 6 – 8
Did you know that many Pokémonâ„¢ GO® characters are inspired by real animals? Explore this inspired fictional world of animals through fun games, lessons, and activities. Campers will learn about the animals, plants, and natural phenomena that inspired Pokémonâ„¢ appearance, movements, habitats, and behavior. Campers will use what they learned to designs their own Pokémonâ„¢, based on interesting facts about animals that haven’t inspired a “real” Pokémonâ„¢ yet. They will also collect their very own animal trading cards!

Large and Exotic Animal Veterinary Medicine
Ages 9 – 12
This camp will be a wonderful introduction to the world of large and exotic animal veterinary care! Campers will explore what it’s like to care for horses, goats, and exotic pets while learning age-appropriate veterinary skills in a fun, supportive environment. Throughout the week, campers will practice basic veterinary techniques such as observing animal behavior, checking vital signs, common husbandry issues, parasites, dental care, medical conditions, common diseases, and more.

In this camp, participants will get the opportunity to express their creative side while helping shelter animals! We will experiment with many different art mediums while participating in a unique

This camp provides a wonderful, age-appropriate introduction to veterinary medicine. Have you heard that cats have spines like liquid? Did you know that dogs have a super-sniffer? Do you know a dinosaur’s favorite cousin? We share our world and homes with amazing animals, and each of them have superpowers that help them survive. Find out who can breathe through their skin, make their own food, soar through the skies, see with night vision, and communicate with us! During this camp, we’ll learn about animal superpowers through games, stories, and hands-on activities. Each day will be a new investigation into the incredible world of the five senses, and campers will test how their own senses stack up against those of animals!
