The SPCA Serving Erie County offers group programs for Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.

Girl Scout On-Demand Badge Workshops

Complete all requirements for one of the following in a 90-minute session:

Daisies
5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals journey -or-
Between Earth and Sky Journey -or-
Flower Garden Journey -or-
Animal Observer Badge

Brownies
Pets Badge or Bugs Badge

Juniors
Animal Habitats Badge

All events are at the SPCA Serving Erie County, 300 Harlem Road, West Seneca, NY 14224.

Cost is $150 for up to 10 girls and 2 leaders. Each additional girl is $15, and each additional adult is $5. Maximum of 40 girls and 10 adults. All scouts receive a certificate of participation and SPCA fun patches. Badges are not included.

Workshops Offered Through the Council

Cadette Animal Helpers Badge Workshops and workshops for smaller groups are available through GSWNY. More information can be found here.

Senior Girl Scout Voice for the Animals Badge

Learn about current animal welfare issues from the organization responsible for enforcing cruelty laws. Meet one of our peace officers and take a tour of the facility while completing requirements 1, 3, 4, and 5 of the Voice for the Animals badge. Requirement 2 (track a beauty product) should be completed prior to the workshop and brought for sharing. All scouts receive a certificate of participation and SPCA fun patches. Badges are not included. Please note that this program does not include contact with cats or dogs.

The workshop lasts 2.5 hours. Cost is $200 for up to 10 girls and 2 adults. Additional scouts are $20 each. Additional adults are $5 each.

Cub Scout Workshops

We offer the following 90-minute workshops at the SPCA Serving Erie County, 300 Harlem Road, West Seneca, NY 14224:

-Tiger Cubs Backyard Adventure Elective -or-
-Bear Cubs Critter Care Elective

The cost is $150 for up to 10 scouts and 10 adults. Additional child/adult pairs are $15.

Pet Pal Patch Program 

Scout troops are welcome to visit our shelter to learn about the mission and the wonderful ways the SPCA Serving Erie County helps our community. Scouts will learn skills such as how to be safe around animals and other ways to be a responsible pet advocate.

The program consists of a 90-minute workshop that includes a tour, an interactive lesson, and a visit from an animal ambassador. Once your program has been confirmed, the group leader will receive a PDF download of service activities for the group to do on their own before or after the workshop. At the end of the workshop, each scout will receive a paw print patch to show their commitment to helping animals and being a pal to all pets.

The cost is $12 per scout.
