Northtown Subaru in Amherst, longtime lover of animals and partner of the SPCA Serving Erie County, is celebrating its love for animals this October!

Northtown Subaru will donate $4000 to the SPCA as part of the Subaru Loves Pets campaign! The donation is being made in honor of the work the SPCA does to help make families complete through adoption, and the pet retention efforts made by the SPCA to keep pets with the families who love them.

Then buckle up, because Subaru’s love for pets continues at a special adoption event Saturday, Oct. 17! From 11 a.m. Woman with glasses holds up black and white kitten for man with glasses to kiss at Subaru Loves Pets adoption event at Northtown Subaru to benefit SPCA Serving Erie Countyto 3 p.m., the SPCA and Northtown Subaru are teaming up in Northtown’s showroom at 3930 Sheridan Drive in Amherst! Get ready to browse the most adorable showroom in town and find your match — whether you’re looking for a playful pup to ride shotgun or a cuddly cat co-pilot.

In all, both Northtown’s Subaru Loves Pets and Share The Love promotions have been responsible for not only finding loving homes for many SPCA temporary, four-footed residents, but they have raised more than $191,000 for SPCA animals since 2021.

Additionally, through a regular spotlight on adoptable animals in their monthly emails, Northtown Subaru truly goes the extra mile to support the SPCA Serving Erie County.

In fact, according to Subaru, in 2025, a national record 839 hometown charities were supported, with over $18.6 million going to local organizations throughout the country.

“Northtown Automotive is proud of our longstanding partnership with the SPCA and our commitment to supporting those organizations that support Western New Yorkers. The SPCA Serving Erie County helps thousands of animals in need every year,” said Harold Erbacher, Chief Operating Officer and Co-Owner of Northtown Automotive Companies. “We pride ourselves on assisting others by creating a sense of family, generosity and sharing— both at the dealerships where we work and in the community we serve.”

“Northtown Subaru’s incredible support allows us to provide life-saving care to animals in need,” said SPCA Associate Director of Corporate and Individual Giving Phillip Weiss. “Their generosity directly translates to more animals finding loving homes and receiving the second chance they deserve. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership!”

“We continue to be so excited over this unique partnership with Northtown Subaru,” says SPCA Serving Erie County President/CEO Cait Daly. “What is most impressive is the fact that this partnership is truly personal for the Northtown reps with whom we work! It’s evident how much they love animals and love the SPCA, and the degree to which they believe in our programs and services is so encouraging. We look forward to continuing this partnership into the future, as the SPCA strives to be a resource for more people in more parts of our region.”

“Because of Northtown Subaru’s unwavering compassion and support, we’re able to give animals in their most vulnerable moments a real chance at life,” said SPCA Associate Director of Corporate and Individual Giving Phillip Weiss. “Their generosity doesn’t just fund care—it brings hope, healing, and the promise of a loving home to animals who have nowhere else to turn. We are truly grateful for their partnership and the profound difference they make every single day.”

Because animals at previous Northtown/SPCA adoption events have been adopted very quickly, interested parties are encouraged to arrive at the April 18 event early to browse animals (and vehicles!).

We have one word to describe March 25, 2022’s adoption event at Northtown Subaru in Amherst: SUBARUNBELIEVABLE!

The team at Northtown Automotive Companies & Northtown Subaru went full speed ahead, and brought along the Buffalo Sabres, to hold an exciting adoption event for our SPCA!

Plenty of our animals found new love, and $28,680 was donated through Subaru’s recent “Share the Love” campaign! Sabres fans were able to have their photos taken with former players Rob Ray and Pat Kaleta along with sassy Sabretooth, and adopters received a pair of tickets to an upcoming game!

On behalf of the SPCA’s staff, volunteers, and animals, thousands of tail wags go out to our friends at Northtown!

The SPCA Serving Erie County has been awarded a $4,000 grant from the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) and Subaru through their Subaru Loves Pets program to help with adoption preparation for cats and dogs. Beginning on October 1, the grant funding will help the SPCA subsidize essential lifesaving services such as spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, initial worming, flea control medication, and microchipping which are crucial resources to the SPCA’s operations.

“We estimate that 30 cats and 19 dogs will be made ready for adoption using this funding,” said Chief Development Officer Jennifer Gurz. “We are continually inspired by the dedication and generosity of the ASPCA® and Subaru, who value pets as much as we do.”
